How to Style Summer Dresses...
Hey everyone! So I did a recent order on Walmart and I picked up 4 dresses (I also did a try on haul on my Instagram; here is the highlight to the haul). I was thinking since it is going to be getting hotter with Summer fast approaching, I needed something easy to throw on. I'm a leggings and jeans type of girl. I have, I think, 2 pairs of shorts; not really a big fan of them. A few years ago, I would never think to wear dresses and now, that's all I want to wear now. I got three are from Time and Tru (personally, my favorite brand at Walmart) and one dress from No Boundaries. The dresses linked below, the first two are the same style, just two different prints, third one has a drawstring waistband the dress has buttons going down the front and has a tie in the back.

For styling the dresses, I will be showing two different ways, and I will also link some items that have paired with them. The dresses will be going in the order they are in up above. I hope you notice a surprised guest in the background.
Dress in an XL, could have gotten L, it was that big!
This dress is perfect to throw on (like I wanted to) and just go out. To give this dress shape, it has a tie that is the same pattern as the dress. Me being me, I love to accessorize. I replaced the tie belt with my old GG belt from Amazon (almost 2 years old, sorry no link for this) to dress it up. For the shoes? I added my newly hauled Tory Burch brown sandals dupes from Amazon. I love this look so much. I looks like you took some time getting ready.
Now, for all the outfits, I've added different jackets. I am that type of girl that loves to layer.
I added my old Loft green utility jacket (don't worry, I've linked similar jackets for an affordable price). Now, no outfit, in my option, is complete until a purse is added. I've been using this purse ever since I got it, I believe before Easter. It's from Sole Society and I think it is the perfect size. Movie date? You can sneak in snacks, everyone does, come on. Going to work? Throw in your lunch and a water bottle, it fits a lot. I think this whole outfit can go from work to drinks with the girls.
I think this dress out of the red one and this is my favorite. I am just attracted to dark colors Dress in an XL, could have gotten L, it was that big! Rating: 10/10 $14.96
I decided with this dress to keep the tie belt. I thought that the GG belt would get lost. I did add some heels, though. Who am I?! I am a flat type of shoe girl. I was thinking in my head that this dress needed to be dressed up. These actual shoes are from Walmart as well, but I cannot link them. I think the little peeps of skin of these shoes makes this dress more of a going out for the night type of outfit. Sometimes you just got to add a heel. For the purse (another item I cannot link, so sorry) I thought a small black purse would make it more going out. For some reason, small purses say to me "going out." You don't need a whole lot when you go out. I added the faded jean jacket to make it more of a casual dress up outfit. I have different types of washes of jean jackets and I just thought the lighter color went well with the dress. I felt like a darker wash would make the dress blend with the jacket. We want the dress to stand out!
This outfit can be for a first date or (again) a night out with the girls. You can also make this dress a day time dress, this would look so cute for brunch. These types of dresses can be dressed up or down, wear during the day or at night. There are no rules, dress how you want to! When we can go out to bars again, I feel like this is going to be the outfit I got out in. It's my favorite for sure!

To be completely honest, this outfit/dress is my least favorite. I've seen this dress on instagram using the hashtag "walmartfinds" and I thought "So cute! The dress actually on me? I look like a potato sack, not cute at all. I think if the waistline was not a drawstring and just tie belt, it might have looked a little better.
I'm still going to keep the dress, I feel like I can TRY to make this work. I got to work with the drawstring. I do think the dress materal is very comfy. It almost reminds me of Lou & Grey, the lounge wear at LOFT. I added my white slide on sneakers to this to make it a comfy dress vibe. Like you are on vacation and you are just walking around the local beach town. I did want to show it styled in a different way. So naturally, I added my green Loft jacket, and I added one of my my Michael Kors purses. I thought the different earth tone colors went good together. I think with the jacket, it makes the dress so much better. I would maybe try a dark jean jacket and some sandals to try to dress it up. Like I said, and rated, it is not my favorite. I bet if I got an L it would have maybe looked a little bit better. I just don't think this fabric and I go well together even though it is so comfy.
Last and final dress.

I've always been a fan of maxi dresses, they barely show your legs which is amazing. I feel like you can really make this dress comfy or dressy. I added my black Tory dupe sandals and I feel like they sort of dress the dress down. If you have a cute pair of wedges, you got yourself a fancy outfit. I do have wedges, but I could only find one, I was kind of mad, but oh well. With the tie in the back, you can form this dress to fit you amazing. I tied it in the front, that's how Walmart styles it. It is perfect for a hot day or night. The straps are adjustable, which is always a plus. I'm not a big fan of my arms, so, I added a nice dark wash jean jacket. Pairing the two together, I think, really make an outfit. This dress, you can do anything to it and it won't look bad. You can add slip on sneakers for an even causal look. To be honest, I completely forgot to add a purse, so not like me at all. But, if I did have one, I would add a small purse, for a night out look, and for day time, I would add my favorite from Sole Society.
Which one is your favorite?! Let me know in the comments!
Until next time!
