Hey, You!

Welcome to my little happy place! My name is Caitlyn, and I’m a 30-year-old (yes, 30, I know I do not look it) girl is just having fun with fashion and beauty located just south of Boston, Massachusetts. I was born in Southie (South Boston) and moved when I was 11.  I've always considered myself a city girl, nature and bugs don’t agree with me, I love the sound of the city.

I graduated from Mount Ida College (which no longer exits) with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Graphic Design in 2013. College started off smoothly, I started off in Fashion Design. I changed majors in the middle of my sophomore year to Graphic Design. Why you ask? I took a digital fashion design course, using the adobe programs and I was hooked. Sewing was just not my thing, but I’ve always kept a little of Fashion Design with me, though. Hint-hint.

After college, I started working at a special needs school. Working with the kids came naturally because I have a 24-year-old brother with Autism. While working, I started a makeup artistry course to become a certified makeup artist in 2015. Random, I know, but I’ve always loved playing with makeup. I graduated in 2016 which started a brand-new career. I stopped working at the school and started off my makeup artist job on the right foot. I did a 7-person wedding! In the middle of all this, August 2014, I adopted a kitty and he changed my life. His name? Dobby. Yes, I am a huge Potterhead.

  

Flash forward to 2018, where I decided it was time, I started a blog. Iced Coffee and Sunflowers was born! Two of my favorite things, and I thought I was a cute name for a blog.

 

Fashion (my fashion design roots) and beauty (hello, makeup artist) are the two main categories I focus on here. I’m all about style on a budget. I love doing daily outfits of the days. For the beauty? When I adopted Dobby, I became cruelty free. So, I'm all for the leaping bunny, I'm both team high-end and drugstore.

As you can probably tell, I like to go into detail, so my blog posts can get a little long aka, I like to ramble a lot. Sorry. I hope you stick around and join the Iced Coffee and Sunflowers family!
